Cincinnati Chili

Cincinnati Chili is a soupier version compared to traditional chili and has Mediterranean/Greek seasonings such as cinnamon, allspice and paprika. It is also made without beans and is served over spaghetti topped with diced white onion and lots of shredded Cheddar. A dish originating by immigrants to Cincinnati, it is often used to top hot dogs (as Coney dogs) and can be served with oyster crackers.

Carne Asada

Buy the Inside Skirt Marinating Steak (not the Outside version) for the most tender option and ask that the silverskin membrane be trimmed off. If you can't find Skirt Steak a Flank Steak is a good substitute. Serve Skirt Steak sliced thinly with Fresh Tomato Salsa tucked into warmed tortillas or with a side of steamed rice and chili-spiced kidney or pinto beans.

An extremely popular northern Thai dish, it’s typically garnished with shallots and pickled mustard greens which add layers of crunch and flavour.

A perfect way to have your ‘steak & eggs’, this beef bowl features an egg cooked in a traditional Japanese style. Onsen egg is basically poached in the shell–slowly cooked in hot water to make an egg with a silky egg white and custardy yolk. Be sure to use the right-sized eggs (large), to get the cooking time correct.

Pan-Seared Steak with Chimichurri Sauce and Garlic Brussels Sprouts

This is a great recipe for two people. If you’d like to make a larger batch of Chimichurri Sauce double the ingredients and use a food processor to help with the chopping. If you have any leftover sauce, keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and use to top any other cooked meats, poultry or fish or stir into grain or pasta dishes. Add to some mayo for a yummy sandwich spread. Fresh chimichurri can also be frozen for up to a month if in a sealed container with a layer of olive oil covering the surface.
