Tender cubes of Canadian Beef Top Sirloin Steak, marinated in Middle Eastern spices and served with Furlani Garlic Texas Toast… forgive me for drooling! Lena Almeida, @listen2lean food influencer, created this all-family recipe.

“This dish was gobbled up by my entire family and believe me when I say the kiddos asked for seconds, and thirds! Inspired by my favourite Lebanese-style beef kebabs and starring Top Sirloin Steak, these skewers are perfect under the broiler or on the grill, making this dish a must-have all year round!”

Ingredients

For the Marinade
3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp sea salt

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 lemon, juiced

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/2 cup dry red wine

For the Kebabs
2 Canadian Beef Top Sirloin Steaks, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces

1 yellow pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces

1 red pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces

For the Sides
1 package Furlani Garlic Texas Toast

Hummus and tabouleh (store-bought or homemade)

Directions

In a large bowl, combine garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, red pepper flakes, black pepper and sea salt. Add the cubes of top sirloin and toss together until the meat is evenly coated.

Sprinkle thinly sliced red onion over the top, and then pour over the lemon juice, olive oil, and red wine. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably, overnight.

If using bamboo or wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least one hour before use.

Discard marinade. Thread the beef and vegetables on skewers, alternating with the meat nestled in between the vegetables. Season with more freshly ground black pepper.

Arrange kebabs on a rimmed baking sheet and place under the oven broiler set to high for 5 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking. Remove from oven, cover loosely with foil and allow kebabs to rest.

Decrease oven heat to 425ºF. Prepare Furlani Garlic Texas Toast according to package directions. Serve kebabs with Furlani Garlic Texas Toast and your favourite Middle Eastern-inspired sides, such as hummus and tabouleh. Enjoy!
