Canada Beef encourages Canadians to show some pride on Canada’s Agriculture Day

Calgary, AB – Canada Beef encourages consumers to add an extra helping of national pride to their Canada Agriculture Day celebrations today. Be it making a recipe with local ingredients or using all Canadian grown food in a special meal, choosing to buy local helps support Canadian farmers, agriculture, and businesses.
Canada’s Ag Day celebrates the nation’s hardworking agricultural producers who grow and raise the nutritious high-quality foods that help families thrive and the essential contributions of agriculture to Canada’s economic prosperity. In celebration of food producers – both the farm gate and culinary kind – Canada Beef is pleased to serve up the award-winning short documentary film, A Nation’s Table, which showcases the contribution and legacy of the late Anita Stewart.

Canada’s recent announcement to fund a national school food policy is a historic opportunity to improve children’s nutrient intakes and impact their long-term well-being. Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership program funding to support global marketing and promotion of Canadian beef and veal

Calgary, AB – Canada Beef will have access to eligible funds of up to more than $5.86 million over three years (2023-2026) from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s AgriMarketing Program under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), to promote Canadian beef and veal exports globally through initiatives that will increase awareness of the value proposition created by Canada’s farmers and other participants within the beef and cattle supply chain.

Calgary, Alb. – Boeuf Canada aura accès à des fonds admissibles pouvant atteindre plus de 5,86 millions de dollars sur trois ans (2023-2026) du programme Agri-marketing d’Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada dans le cadre du Partenariat canadien pour une agriculture durable (PCA durable), afin de promouvoir les exportations de boeuf et de veau canadiens à l’échelle mondiale grâce à des initiatives qui feront mieux connaître la proposition de valeur créée par les agriculteurs canadiens et d’autres participants au sein de la chaîne d’approvisionnement en boeuf et en bovins.

Canada Beef announces Eric Bienvenue as Incoming President

Calgary, AB – Canada Beef and the Canadian Beef Check-off Agency are pleased to announce that Eric Bienvenue will join the team as Incoming President effective Tuesday, October 3, 2023. A strategic leader with nearly 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the Canadian pork and poultry industries, Bienvenue brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Canada Beef.

Canada Beef President Michael Young said Bienvenue’s extensive experience in the animal protein sector will serve him well in his new role. “He brings a solid business acumen, collaborative leadership skills and the drive needed to support the continued success and prosperity of the Canadian cattle and beef sector,” he said.

Canada Beef launches Beef Up Your Skills initiative for Canadian consumers

Calgary, AB – Canada’s beef industry is dedicated to delivering an outstanding eating experience each time a consumer prepares our products. While the effort starts on the farm with Canada’s 60,000 beef producers, and continues throughout the supply chain, the finishing touches will always be achieved in the kitchen. With this in mind, Canada Beef is pleased to announce new online tools to make a great home chef even better.

The Beef Up Your Skills initiative provides consumers with helpful advice and meaningful support to address common questions and issues related to cooking beef. Canada Beef President Michael Young said the intent is to take a multi-faceted approach that takes its cue from consumer feedback and applies expert guidance and research to develop enhanced recommendations.

Canadian Agricultural Partnership program funding to support global marketing of Canadian Beef and Veal

Calgary, ABCanada Beef will utilize $3.6 million in eligible funds from the AgriMarketing Program, under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), to promote Canadian beef and veal exports globally and to enhance awareness of the value proposition created by farmers and other participants within the beef and cattle supply chain.

The two-year, non-refundable CAP contribution will fund the development and deployment of global resources and activities to support market development programs for Canadian beef in international markets.

Calgary, ABBœuf Canada utilisera 3,6 millions $ de fonds admissibles du programme Agri-marketing, dans le cadre du Partenariat canadien pour l’agriculture (PCA), pour promouvoir les exportations de bœuf et de veau canadiens à l’échelle mondiale et pour mieux faire connaître la proposition de valeur créée par les agriculteurs et les autres participants de la chaîne d’approvisionnement en bœuf et en bovins.

La contribution de deux ans, non remboursable, du PCA financera le développement et le déploiement de ressources et d’activités mondiales pour soutenir les programmes de développement du marché du bœuf canadien sur les marchés internationaux.

Canada Beef congratulates Sage Watson for 4-H Canada recognition

Canada Beef extends sincere congratulations to Canadian Olympian Sage Watson for being named as the recipient of the 2021 4-H Canada Distinguished Alumni Award.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding leadership and contributions of 4-H alumni to “our communities, country, and world.” Watson, from Medicine Hat, Alberta, grew up on a beef farm, an experience she credits with helping shape a strong work ethic.

Spring Costco Connection Magazine and Environmental Print Ad

Costco is one of Canada’s leading retailers of Canadian Beef. Canada Beef created a print ad for the May/June environmental issue of Costco Connection magazine. The ad highlighted the Provincial TESA (The Environmental Stewardship Award) 2018 winner, Sandra Voss, from Paris, Ontario. Since 1996, The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) has been awarded annually at the provincial and national level to recognize cattle producers’ leadership in conservation. Nominees and applicants are selected based on their stewardship practices, accomplishments and goals.
