Traditional Beef Tourtière

Tourtiere is a French Canadian classic dish that is traditionally serviced Christmas eve. If you’ve never had tourtière as a family tradition, this one is so easy and so delicious, we’re guessing that this one will be it!

Speedy Skillet Steak with Rapid Ratatouille

Minute or Fast-fry Steaks make the perfect speedy weeknight dinner.

Braised Beef Curry

This mildly spiced curry is easy to pull together and takes advantage of less premium cuts of beef. This recipe came to us from Chef Clinton during his visit from China to our Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence.

Corned Beef Dinner with Marmalade Glaze

This recipe is a perennial favourite for St. Patrick's day. Use a large slow cooker (20 to 24 cup or 5 to 6 L) for this recipe. If you have a smaller one, cut the corned beef brisket to fit. The cabbage is cooked separately after meat is finished so it won't impart its strong flavour to the other vegetables. Serve with your favourite mustard.

Slow Cooker Pulled Beef Barbacoa-style

The slow-cooker is great to use all year-round. Use it in summer to help keep your kitchen cool and ensure that you are out of the kitchen enjoying summer-fun! If you find Ancho chili paste in the grocery store, you can substitute it for the canned chipotle peppers.

Cowboy Cupcakes

These little lasagnas are easy to make and are the perfect nosh for game night at home or a tailgate party out at the field. One easy recipe makes many and kids love them too. Switch-up the flavours to make the mix Mexican or Greek versions – variety is the spice of life!

Rouladen-style Roast Beef

Inspired by Emily Richards @ERiscooking, this stuffed rolled roast is an easy way to take a budget roast like Eye of Round and turn it into something you’d be proud to serve to company. It’s very lean so you may even consider wrapping it in bacon – who doesn’t like bacon after all? Other options for filling: add asiago or Parmesan to the mixture, use pesto instead of mustard.

Beef and Mushroom Stew with Glazed Carrots and Puffed Pastry Crouton

Make this hearty stew with Stewing Beef such as Stewing Beef Cubes or Shank or cubes that are cut from Short Ribs or Simmering Steaks such as: Cross Rib, Blade or Brisket.

Roast Beef with Peppercorn Wine Sauce and Yorkies

A Strip Loin roast has a thin shape so it cooks more quickly than chunkier roasts like Prime Rib. It also a snap to carve and little to no trimming required to serve. The Yorkies recipe here is courtesy of an old edition of Home & Gardens and the Frizzled Onions is a recipe that hails from Canadian Living. This is a real recipe-swap kind of recipe!

Deconstructed Beef Wellington

Making Beef Wellington as individual servings is a modern take on the classically elegant meal.

Rouladen-Style Italian Meat Loaf

This Italian-style meat loaf is a colourful spiral of peppers, prosciutto, provolone and pine nuts – it tastes as sensational as it looks. Leftovers make terrific sandwiches tucked in panini or other crusty Italian rolls. An added bonus – any leftovers freeze well too.

Asian Beef Tenderloin with Mushroom Barley and Sauteéd Mushrooms

Beef Tenderloin is marinated with Asian seasonings just for flavour, reserving the marinade to use in the flavourful Finishing Sauce. Although relatively easy to make, there are quite a few components to this recipe. Simplify the dish by making the Barley and Mushrooms ahead warming them just before serving.

Beef and Mushroom Stew

Beef stew is the perfect winter recipe. This delicious beef and mushroom stew will make the house smell inviting and cozy.  The combination of beef and vegetables with the perfect blend of seasonings will have people asking for seconds.

Beef Stroganoff Soup

This Beef Stroganoff soup recipe is a fun and easy twist on a dinnertime favourite.  Soup is a fantastic quick and simple solution for busy weeknights.  Add a simple side salad and a crusty piece of rustic bread and you've got a great meal solution.

Mexican Meat Loaf

You can serve slices of the meatloaf with rice or try serving in taco shells dressed with salsa and other taco toppings for fun. Any leftover meatloaf can be crumbled to use as a quesadilla filling or a tostado topping.

Classic Sweet and Sour Pineapple Meatballs

Oven-roasting the meatballs instead of pan-frying leaves you free to make the sauce. The meatballs can be assembled the night before, if you wish so you can just pop them in the oven when you get home from work. The sauce can also be made ahead. Serve with cooked rice or rice noodles and snow peas.

Yonge Street Sirloin with Gremolata and Mushrooms

In honour of Canada’s 150, we’ve planted our stake (steak) by (finally) naming a steak after a famous Canadian icon – the longest (debatable) street in the world! Chef Mills, Executive Chef of the Fairmont Royal York, THANK YOU! The original recipe was adapted to this version for home kitchens by the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence.

Braised Beef Rib Harvest Stew

A warm and hearty way to prepare and serve beef short ribs. The combination of red wine and fresh herbs adds a wonderful flavour to the beef short ribs. This delicious stew recipe is also featured in this elegant appetizer called Beef'n Blues Wagon Wheel Bites. This appetizer is a great way to use leftover stew.

All Family Big Batch Beef Chili

Adapted from a recipe by Chef Jean-Francois Fortin of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, this chili makes a big pot – perfect for when you have the gang over or want to stock your freezer with speedy weeknight dinners. The seasoning is quite mild so if you want to spice it up, serve with some hot sauce or add ½ tsp chili pepper flakes while sautéing the seasonings.

Beef Steak Pho (Noodle Soup)

Make with thinly sliced prime rib or strip loin steaks. You can make your own pho flavoured beef broth (see Tip below) or buy ready-made. Serve the soup with hot sauce and soy sauce.

Beef Kare Kare with Garlic Rice

Chef Anna Olson: “I discovered Kare Kare on my very first trip to the Philippines. I loved the intense aroma and the richness of the sauce, and it inspired me to prepare it at home. If I’m looking for a more casual way to serve it, especially if I’ve made the dish the day before, I serve my Kare Kare beef as a burrito. Since this isn’t readily available here in Canada, I use paprika – it adds a nice colour and is very tasty without being spicy.”

Beef and Pasta Pronto

An easy, satisfying dinner recipe that's perfect for every-night cooking. Beef is what makes Beef and Pasta Pronto best!

Beef’n Cheese Stuffed Potatoes

Here’s a meat'n'potatoes appetizer or paired with a salad, a light family meal the kid's will love. The small potatoes micro-bake in minutes and with Big Batch Beef, they're ready in a flash! If you want to skip making the Big Batch Beef, pan-fry 1 lb (500 g) fresh ground beef with 1 EACH onion and clove garlic, minced – take what you need for the recipe and save the rest to add to pasta sauce for next night's dinner.
