8 slices Furlani Garlic Texas Toast
1 pound Canadian lean ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
 2 garlic cloves, minced
 1/2 tsp salt
 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
 2 cups marinara sauce
 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
 2 tbsp freshly chopped basil
1

In a large pan over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 8-10 minutes, breaking into small chunks with the back of spoon while cooking. Once the beef is browned and completely cooked, drain any excess fat. Return to heat and add onion, garlic, salt, and ground pepper; cook for five minutes until the onion is translucent. Add the marinara sauce and heat through on medium-low heat for an additional 10 minutes.

While the beef mixture is cooking through, bake Furlani Garlic Texas Toast slices according to the package directions.

To serve, place a piece of garlic toast on a plate. Add a large, heaping spoonful of the beef mixture on top; sprinkle with shredded cheese. Place a second slice of garlic toast on top, layering once again with the beef mixture and shredded cheese. Top with chopped basil. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.
