 The Canada Beef team participated in two agricultural shows in November Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) partnered with Canada Beef at the Farm Fair International in Edmonton. Farm Fair International has been one of Canada’s top agricultural shows, and Alberta’s largest beef cattle show for nearly 50 years. Exhibitors across Western Canada gather in Edmonton each November to showcase their top livestock genetics to purebred cattle producers, local ranchers, and international buyers.   Mel Chmilar Jr. from Darkside of the Grill returned as part of the Pit Master Event. Along with ABP’s Marketing and Communications Manager Lindsay Roberts, Mel presented three barbecue demonstrations and tastings on November 11, 2023. Consumers and producers were treated to delicious, mouth-watering Alberta Beef, slow-cooked on Mel’s famous grill. Canada Beef and Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association (SCA) partnered on a Canadian beef culinary stage at this year’s Agribition in Regina. The cooking stage ran from November 20-25 with five daily cooking demonstrations. On-stage presenters included Canada Beef’s Executive Director of Digital Marketing Michele McAdoo, well-known TV cooking personality CJ Katz, and TV regular Belton Johnson. Local SCA and 4-H members also demonstrated recipes. The culinary stage and cooking lessons were well attended, with over 250 resources handed out during the show. McAdoo demonstrated two recipes and was joined on stage by Canada Beef and SCA board member Chad Ross, who did an outstanding job demonstrating his cooking prowess. A new booklet developed by Canada Beef titled Make the Most of Your Beef was distributed at the show. The booklet is a handy guide to help consumers get the most value from the beef they buy and features instructions and video links.
