![]() Canadian beef sessions for culinary professionals The Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) Mexico and Latin America successfully executed a series of impactful activities in Los Cabos, reinforcing its commitment to key tourist destinations with a strong demand for premium-quality proteins. This initiative included two technical demonstrations to showcase the quality and versatility of Canadian beef to culinary professionals. The program was supported by three members of Butchery Team Canada, Canada’s official representatives in international butchery competitions, along with the Canadian beef ambassador chef in Mexico. The first demonstration was held at the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos, where approximately 50 attendees, including culinary professionals from the hotel group, participated in a hands-on technical session. Following an initial master demonstration by the Canadian butchers’ delegation, attendees formed teams to participate in a structured butchery competition, replicating the cuts presented by the experts. Members of Butchery Team Canada then evaluated each team on technical skill, accuracy, creativity and other factors. Members of the winning team were each awarded a professional beef-cutting and portioning reference book from Canada Beef. ![]() The second day, featuring a similar program of activities, was held at Solaz Resort and attracted nearly 100 professionals from across the hospitality and restaurant sectors. The program concluded with a tasting session featuring the cuts produced during the competition and those showcased by the Canadian team. ![]() In addition to the demonstrations, members of Butchery Team Canada and Canada Beef representatives participated in a local radio interview, helping to raise consumer awareness of Canadian beef in Mexico. The program's success was further enhanced by the support of Carnes Premium XO, the Canadian beef distributor in Los Cabos, which co-hosted the event and sponsored all the beef cuts used throughout the two-day program. Their involvement, along with the dedication of hotel partners, chefs, and culinary teams, was instrumental in delivering comprehensive and impactful experience for the region’s hospitality sector. Canada Beef remains committed to advancing professional training, promoting product knowledge, and strengthening relationships with leading culinary destinations throughout Mexico.
