Refresh of Thinkbeef.ca
The website Thinkbeef.ca, launched in 2017, was recently refreshed with a new, contemporary look, easier-to-use tools, and updated content. The website’s primary focus is to provide key audiences with helpful information about beef nutrition, facts and resources that underpin the positive attributes of beef to human health, and tips on how to maximize the enjoyment of beef at home.

Consumers will find health and nutrition information on the Thinkbeef.ca website, while health professionals can access the content to stay current on the latest science on beef nutrition and use the resources as credible educational pieces for their clients. Thinkbeef.ca also provides a hub for beef industry resources that feature the most current facts, and resources that speak positively about beef, said Canada Beef Executive Director, Consumer Marketing, Joyce Parslow.

“ThinkBeef programming is designed to inspire meat-eating Canadians with a desire to eat well, to celebrate a love for beef and include it in their balanced diet,” she said.

Improvements include an updated homepage that uses images for navigation prompts instead of drop-down menus, making it easier to use.

As consumers are always looking for recipes, there is a revamped recipe space with collections covering topics like Big Batch, Portables and Cook Smart. A new Resource Centre was created with an e-book resource to view, download, and order available resources.

The nutrition section underwent a significant revision to its layout and content, enabling the inclusion of resources that address hot button topics like beef’s benefits to mental health, bone health, and new iron information based on Health Canada’s latest research findings.

Parslow said sharing research findings is an important component of the Thinkbeef.ca website. The latest health-related research is referenced along with articles in the Talking Beef section. The website is promoted to consumers and their influencers through advertising and social media and highlighted to healthcare professionals at conferences and industry events.
