 Revamped Merchandising Guide poster and more showcased at GIC 2023 Canada Beef had much to showcase to retailers at the 2023 Grocery Innovations Canada (GIC) show held at the Toronto Congress Centre October 24 and 25. As Canada’s largest grocery trade show, the GIC was the ideal setting to display the newly launched Canadian Beef Wholesale Gateway, Retail Edition. Visitors to Canada Beef’s booth could view videos of the new resource and try out the new program with the assistance of Canada Beef’s Senior Director of Channel Marketing, Shelby VanSickle and Channel Marketing Merchandising Manager, Todd Van Eyk. Canada Beef’s Incoming President, Eric Bienvenue, joined the channel marketing team at the booth on the show’s final day. The booth focused on the Canadian Beef Information Gateway and highlighted the latest modules geared to the needs of consumers, including World Cuisine, Recipe Collections, and Diet and Wellness. Booth visitors saw recipe videos on-screen and learned more about the Gateway and how it can help their customers have a great Canadian beef experience. Canada Beef understands the importance of education, which can encourage consumers to experiment with less familiar cuts with confidence, noted VanSickle. “The Gateway is a great tool for consumers to learn cooking methods and recipes, allowing for positive eating experiences every time Canadian beef is on their plate,” she said. Retailers could also pick up a copy of the redesigned Retail Merchandising Guide poster and learn about its new features from the team. Canada Beef has integrated QR codes into the Retail Merchandising Guide poster, said Van Eyk. “QR codes on each sub-primal that link to the Wholesale Gateway, Retail Edition content for the chosen cut, allows meat department employees to discover innovative ways to merchandise Canadian beef,” he said.
