Canada Beef exhibited at the SIAL Paris 2024 trade show from October 19-23. One of the largest international food and beverage industry trade shows in the world, SIAL Paris is a vital platform for building relationships and exploring new opportunities for Canadian beef. Organizers expected 265,000 professional visitors from across the globe during the five-day show held at Paris Nord Villepinte, France.

Canada Beef President Eric Bienvenue, Vice-President Export Market Development Albert Eringfeld, and Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence Executive Director (and chef) Mathieu Paré showcased Canadian beef at the Canadian Beef booth alongside Canadian beef supply partners.

Key highlights from the first three days of the show included exploring opportunities from Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Japan, Ukraine, Singapore, South Asia and the Gulf region. On Day 2, the focus shifted to expanding markets in countries like Hungary, Kazakhstan, Trinidad, Côte d’Ivoire, Colombia, Egypt, UAE, Europe and Asia.

“Everyone was engaged in several strategic meetings, showcasing the quality and the sustainability of Canadian beef products,” Bienvenue noted on his and Canada Beef’s LinkedIn channel.

The team highlighted various beef cuts, emphasized the Canadian beef industry’s commitment to high standards in animal welfare and environmental practices, and presented various underutilized cuts to showcase their potential.

On day 3, industry leaders and buyers learned first hand about high quality Canadian beef through tasting demonstrations and engaging conversations that showcased the many elements that make Canadian beef a standout in global markets. Bienvenue reported additional new interest from France (Air France), Czech Republic, Mexico, Israel, Philippines, Bahamas, Germany, Morocco, Argentina, Africa, Thailand, and markets where Canadian beef currently has no access (China, U.K.).

“This day solidified Canada’s position as a powerhouse in the beef industry, leaving a lasting impression of excellence and potential,” Bienvenue noted.

SIAL Paris also enabled Canada Beef to provide a business building environment for participating Canadian beef supply partners and coordinate a combined Canadian meat industry pavilion along with Canada Pork and the Canadian Bison Association.
