CBCE hosts USask Beef Science Club
The University of Saskatchewan’s Beef Science Club organized a trip to Alberta recently for a Canadian beef industry tour. The group was made up of 15 students from Biology and Agriculture Sciences programs, many of whom have Canadian beef producer backgrounds.

The students toured local farms, ranches, feedlot, and genetics operations. They also spent time at the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE) where they toured the facilities and participated in a presentation by Cameron Pappel, Director of CBCE Studios.

The presentation provided the opportunity to explain Canada Beef’s and CBCE’s role within the Canadian beef industry to a new generation of students, producers and young professionals who are specializing in agricultural and biological sciences with special interest in the Canadian beef industry.

The presentation also covered Canadian beef production systems and the Canadian Beef Advantage. Pappel highlighted the many resources available from the CBCE and the importance of building relationships with stakeholder organizations, skilled contractors, and specialized vendors.
