 Costco Japan Canada Fair Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) Japan participated in Costco Japan’s Canada Fair along with other premium Canadian food and beverage products. A wide range of Canadian products, including Canadian beef, was featured at 32 Costco Japan warehouses from August 21 to 27, 2023. Costco Japan first purchased Canadian beef for their best-selling beef offering, the Bulgogi pack, at 19 Costco locations. They have now expanded the product to all 32 locations. It’s the first time Canadian beef was promoted at the Costco Canada Fair at all the locations.   CBII Japan supported in-store sampling at Costco locations from August 25- 27, working with Club Demonstration Services (CDS), the product demonstration agency for Costco, to support the Canadian beef demonstrations and boost sales over the three days. CBII Japan provided the artwork and production of the AAA labels, which were applied to product packaging. Point-of-sale materials were also created to support Canadian beef sales during the promotion. Costco also promoted the Canada Fair online. Costco Japan sold an estimated 90 tonnes of Bulgogi packs during the Canada Fair week. CBII Japan’s representative visited the Costco Japan headquarters and flagship with other Canadian business representatives to meet with Costco buyers during the fair; this was a cost-shared project with Alberta Japan Office and federal/provincial funding.
