 Canada Beef and HEB Father’s Day Grill-Off For Father’s Day, HEB, a major supermarket chain, and Canada Beef Latin America and Mexico (LATAM) presented a hands-on grilling event that brought together over 120 guests for an engaging culinary experience promoting Canadian beef. Held in collaboration with the Big Green Egg, the event combined education, teamwork, and real-time cooking to showcase Canadian beef. The experience began with a live cutting demonstration led by Canada Beef LATAM partner chef, Paulo Aguirre, and sous-chef, Miguel Fernández. The two broke down a rib eye primal, explaining each cut and how to portion it properly to get the best taste for consumers. Guests were then divided into small teams, with each team receiving one rib eye primal to work with. Their task was to season, prepare, and grill their cut using Big Green Egg ceramic grills.   Discussions during the event focused on aspects such as consistency, tenderness, and visual appeal on the grill. The chefs emphasized these points by demonstrating proper cooking techniques and answering questions, offering both guidance and culinary insights. Each team was encouraged to work together to plan how to cook their beef. While some participants focused on traditional grilling methods, others experimented with different rubs and techniques. Throughout the event, there were opportunities for tasting and conversation, with chefs providing feedback and tips after sampling the various preparations. By combining culinary education with hands-on experience, the event offered participants a deeper understanding of the Canadian beef available at HEB and highlighted the Canadian Beef Advantage, all while celebrating the occasion in a meaningful and interactive way.
