 Generic Export Market Development Summary 2024-2025 The Calgary Stampede offers a great opportunity to host incoming buyers’ groups. This well-known event provides a truly Canadian experience for visitors to enjoy while learning about the Canadian beef industry.  In collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and their Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Food Office (IPAAO), Canada Beef leveraged funding available through its Export Market Development (EMD) Partner program to help host and support an incoming delegation of beef buyers from the Southeast Asian region. The incoming mission included 11 importers and their foodservice sector clients from Vietnam, the Philippines and Singapore. Participants visited a major beef processing plant, a feedlot operation and a cow/calf breeding ranch. They also took part in a Canadian beef merchandising, cooking and tasting demonstration organized by the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence. Special thanks to Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation Deputy Minister Jason Hale for hosting a visit to his ranch.  In addition to the beef industry program, AAFC and the IPAAO arranged various activities for the buyers during their visit, in conjunction with events taking place during the Calgary Stampede. Canada Beef’s EMD program provides cost-shared funding support to help facilitate export market growth for Canadian beef representative company-initiated projects and activities in five categories.
