 Canada Beef at Exphotel Fair Canada Beef participated at the Exphotel 2022 trade show, held in the city of Cancun on June 14 – 16, 2022. The show featured 340 national and international exhibitors with an attendance of over 6,000 visitors. Exphotel has established itself as one of the main business forums for the foodservice sector. Cancun and the Mayan Riviera are among the most important tourist destinations in Mexico and represent an array of commercial opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses.   Canada Beef participated at the Sigma Foodservice booth to support the growth of Canadian beef sales in this region and to promote the Canadian beef offerings in the distributor´s product portfolio. Participation included Canadian beef product samplings and demonstrations conducted by brand ambassador, Chef Federico Lopez. This included beef cutting demonstrations, cooking sessions, Canadian Beef Advantage messaging, as well as advertisements on websites and social media platforms. Sigma Foodservice is one of the leading companies in food distribution for hotels, restaurants, caterers and hospitality professionals in Quintana Roo. COVID-19 Update Mexico is facing a fifth wave of COVID-19 infections, with infections expected to peak between now and mid-August. At least 15 of Mexico’s 32 states have activated prevention methods including the mandatory use of face masks in open spaces. In early July, 23,148 cases were reported in a single day; the total number has reached 6,010,065 cases. Deaths reported to date are 325,669.
