 Ontario Corn Fed Beef seminar Hanoi, Vietnam Ontario Corn Fed Beef (OCFB), their supply chain partner Cargill Guelph, local distributor partner Qualifoods and Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) Taiwan joined forces to support the delivery of an OCFB Kick-Off Seminar in Hanoi, Vietnam on May 2. Canada Beef supported this initiative through its Export Market Development partner program. This initiative aimed to introduce the OCFB brand to the Vietnamese market and was the first time an OCFB seminar was held in Hanoi. The event was well-received, with more than 80 guests in attendance, including professional chefs from diverse culinary restaurant styles and other foodservice organizations. Representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam as well as major Vietnamese industry importers, distributors, and social media influencers also attended. OCFB Director Brand Management, John Baker made a presentation about the Ontario beef industry and OCFB brand attributes. OCFB Marketing Manager Asia, Daisuke Shimojima delivered a cooking demonstration that included information about the quality differences between various cuts of beef. He also highlighted how to get the best flavour from OCFB cuts when cooking at home. Audiences had a chance to taste the product at a dinner featuring OCFB cuts prepared in Vietnamese and Western-style cuisines. Canada Beef Marketing Manager Vietnam, Pham (Katie) Nhu also attended the event. The seminar provided an opportunity to increase awareness of the OCFB brand in the Vietnam food industry and support the further expansion of Canadian beef to potential clients in Northern Vietnam. The event also helped Qualifoods to expand their reach and develop more sales of Canadian beef in Vietnam.
