Canada Beef showcases new foodservice resources at the 2024 RC Show
Canada Beef showcased its new foodservice resources to industry stakeholders at the 2024 Restaurants Canada (RC) Show. Held at the Enercare Centre in Toronto April 8-10, this year’s show estimated attendance was more than 22,000 visitors.

The RC Show was an ideal platform for Canada Beef to formally introduce the Canadian Beef Wholesale Gateway, Foodservice Edition, to the foodservice industry. Visitors to the Canada Beef booth could view digital content samples, including merchandising, purchasing, culinary and serving videos. Foodservice industry professionals could also digitally access Canada Beef’s new Culinary Planners, which provide access to 150 commercial recipes developed using beef dish trend data in Canada.

Canada Beef's Senior Director of Channel Marketing, Shelby VanSickle, Foodservice Manager, Sandesh Rodrigo, and Retail Merchandising Manager, Todd Van Eyk, were on-site to explain the new resources. The show offered the Channel Marketing team a great opportunity to speak with foodservice industry stakeholders to better understand the opportunities and challenges they face in the ever-changing marketplace. It also allowed the team to discover how Canada Beef’s informational resources can best support the industry.

Visitors could obtain a copy of the newly designed Foodservice Merchandising Guide poster. “This poster was created to focus on sub primals and their foodservice-specific cuts,” said Rodrigo. “Foodservice professionals can access digital content to help educate front and back-of-house staff about Canadian beef through the poster’s integrated QR codes allowing seamless information access,” Rodrigo added.

The Channel Marketing team connected with many foodservice industry professionals from different business segments, including chefs, educators, owner/operators, executives, and more. “Ultimately, Canada Beef is here to support the entire foodservice sector, particularly to grow opportunities to use Canadian beef on menus from coast to coast. We were pleased with visitor response to our new materials and look forward to forging new relationships within the foodservice industry,” said VanSickle.
