![]() Canada Beef at Expo Carnes Canada Beef participated in the 2025 Expo Carnes y Lácteos exhibition (Meat and Dairy Trade Fair), organized by the Mexican Meat Council in Monterrey, Mexico, from March 4-6, 2025. The event attracted over 10,000 visitors and featured 400 exhibitors from 20 countries. At the show, Canada Beef and Canada Pork collaborated using a shared central kitchen, where both organizations conducted presentations and highlighted their products. The Canada Beef team, led by brand ambassador Federico López, master butcher Jaime Cavazos, and grill expert Gualberto Elizondo, presented beef-cutting demonstrations and Canadian beef education sessions. The presentations focused on preparing a variety of underutilized beef cuts sourced from two Canadian packers, using different cooking techniques, including sous-vide, grilling, smoking, pan-searing, slow-cooking, and oven roasting. Attendees had the chance to sample cuts like chuck, rounds, teres major, brisket, short rib, flat iron, and inside/outside skirts. The dynamic and engaging demonstrations provided valuable networking opportunities and allowed Canadian beef distributors to connect with visitors, discuss their Canadian beef brands, and share product catalogues and resources. In addition, Canada Beef and Cargill co-hosted a cocktail event attended by 120 guests from Mexico and various Latin American markets. The event featured a curated menu of Canadian beef dishes, expertly prepared by the executive chef of the JW Marriott Hotel, offering an ideal environment for informal networking and relationship-building.Given the potential economic factors that could impact the importation of certain goods into the Mexican market, the 2025 Expo Carnes show served as a key platform for highlighting the stability and reliability of Canadian beef in meeting market demands. Participation at the trade show provided the opportunity to reinforce Canada’s commitment to supplying high-quality beef to Mexico despite challenges that could affect imports. Visitors gained a deeper understanding of Canadian beef's rigorous standards, explored the variety of beef cuts available in Mexico, and connected with the distributor suppliers. Through collaboration with Canadian packers, chefs, and distributors, Canada Beef strengthened its presence in the region and showcased the opportunity for Canadian products to meet the growing demand for premium beef in Mexico.
