![]() Canada Beef attends important scientific workshop Canada Beef Director Health & Nutrition Karine Rekunyk recently attended a scientific workshop in Rosemont, Illinois. The meeting brought together leading protein experts from around the world to challenge assumptions, critically assess the science and highlight where research is still needed in the realm of dietary protein. Indiana University developed the workshop, Human Dietary Protein Needs and Benefits: A Critical Assessment of Postulated Propositions. Renkunyk noted that several of the presenters were Canadian. “It was a privilege to be there on behalf of Canada Beef. There were about 100 people in attendance, mostly high-profile academics in the field of protein research,” she said. The meeting was a unique opportunity to meet and network with renowned protein researchers, learn about cutting-edge science, and understand the nuances of controversies and many unknowns that still exist in the domain of protein and health. Proceedings from the two-day session will be published in the future. Back to main page ![]() KARINE REKUNYK Director, Health and Nutrition |
