The Canada Beef Latin America and Mexico team (LATAM) partnered with Chef Marylu Gidi to create a collection of 10 video recipes featuring Canadian beef-filled Mexican tamales. Tamales are a traditional Mexican dish of seasoned meat wrapped in cornmeal dough and steamed or baked in corn husks.



The promotion’s objective was to promote Canadian beef as a premium ingredient in Mexican cuisine, highlighting the brand as a trusted source of high-quality beef products.

The collaboration with Chef Gidi demonstrated Canada Beef’s commitment to culinary innovation and expertise. It highlighted the use of unusual beef cuts in tamale fillings, with an appreciation for diverse regional variations. Each recipe was carefully crafted to highlight the distinct flavour profiles, versatility, and tenderness of Canadian beef cuts including chuck, inside skirt, sirloin, brisket, and beef tongue. The video recipes are a valuable resource for cooking enthusiasts and encourage consumers to experiment with new flavours and techniques, driving engagement and interest in different Canadian cuts.



Tamales hold cultural significance, particularly during the months of November through February. The focus on seasonal significance contributed to its overall impact and raised brand awareness as well as consumer engagement. The videos were shared through Canada Beef Mexico and Chef Gidi’s social media platforms, amplifying the reach and impact.
