Canada Beef launches the Canadian Beef Masters Culinary Competition
Canada Beef calls all aspiring chefs and cooks to participate in the inaugural Canadian Beef Masters Culinary Competition. This exciting cooking competition aims to celebrate the creativity and diversity of the Canadian foodservice industry. This year’s theme, Maximizing Opportunity Cuts, focuses on the creative utilization of six cuts. The cuts chosen were identified as a priority by Canadian packers, per a survey conducted by Canada Beef.

Canadian foodservice professionals can demonstrate their creativity and culinary prowess to create a delicious entrée featuring one of these six cuts as the star ingredient: clod/petite tender, outside skirt, flank steak, inside skirt, bottom sirloin tri-tip, or chuck eye roll.

Canada Beef hopes to inspire Canadian foodservice professionals to embrace their culinary heritage. This is an opportunity to showcase the possibilities available to utilize Canadian beef in creating delicious dishes across a number of cuisines while maximizing guest experience and value.

Competitors have the chance to win over $9,000 in cash prizes, including a grand prize of $4,000. Finalists will also get an all-expense paid trip to Calgary to compete in the grand finals at Canada Beef’s state-of-the-art culinary facility, the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence, where they will present their dish and the story behind it to a panel of judges. Eighteen of the best recipes submitted will be featured in the inaugural edition of the Canadian Beef Masters Digital Cookbook.

The competition launched January 16 and closes February 16, 2025. It will be advertised to prospective entrants through a number of channels, including Restaurants Canada’s MENU Magazine and online platforms, as well as direct outreach to culinary institutions and a social media campaign. Finals will be held on March 16, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta.
