Canada Beef’s EMD Program supports visitors from Mexico In October, Canada Beef’s Export Market Development (EMD) program supported a Canadian beef supplier to host a delegation of their clients from Mexico to Canada. The group included representatives from a Canadian beef distributor and their foodservice industry clients from Mexico. The goal of this initiative was to grow new business for their premium Canadian beef brand in Mexico with both existing and new clients. The program consisted of visits to the Canadian beef supplier’s packing plant, a cow-calf operation, a feedlot, and the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence. During the visit, the Mexican clients discussed strategy and specifications with their Canadian beef supplier, learned about the Canadian Beef Advantage and were presented with new merchandising ideas for alternative and underutilized Canadian beef cuts. Canada Beef’s EMD program provides cost-shared funding support to help facilitate export market growth for Canadian beef representative company-initiated projects and activities in five main strategic categories.
