Grocery Innovations Canada – GIC Live @ Home
The Grocery Innovations Canada (GIC) show hosted its second virtual trade show and conference October 26 – 28, 2021. Canada Beef was a sponsor of the tradeshow, and presented a virtual booth that highlighted Canada Beef resources including Channel Marketing programs and the technical and culinary resources available from the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence.

Canada Beef also promoted the Canadian Beef Information Gateway initiative in the show’s New Product Showcase, which highlights the latest and most innovative trends in grocery.

“Participating in trade shows has always been an important part of Canada Beef’s strategic plan,” said Rod Koning, executive director, channel marketing for Canada Beef. “These shows provide a one-stop-shop to meet with clients face-to-face as well as engage with new audiences, showcase products and resources and develop business opportunities.”

The 2021 GIC continued the trend from last year’s virtual event to provide even more engagement opportunities complete with keynotes, workshops, trade show booths, exhibit halls and the New Product Showcase.

The virtual trade show booths allowed attendees immerse themselves in exhibitors’ curated environments of their latest products and services, and provided a space where sales could take place. Online retailers and buyers from around the world, accessed videos, downloaded sales sheets and information, and chatted with vendors live, in a multitude of languages.

Koning said the Canada Beef virtual booth attracted 179 visits, held 21 virtual discussions, and had 308 resources reviewed by attendees. A number of meetings were booked for after the show to discuss Canada Beef’s programs and services.

“GIC did an excellent job of providing a valuable industry experience and it was great to connect with customers, partners and industry colleagues,” he said.
