 Export Market Development program Q2 roundup Canada Beef’s Export Market Development (EMD) partner program supports Canadian beef suppliers and their international partners. The program continued to be very active during the second quarter of this fiscal year. Projects completed included: A Canadian beef importer located in Europe received support to exhibit at their German distributor’s annual showcase event to promote and sample their Canadian beef brand to foodservice industry clients. The Ontario Beef Market Development Program received support to invite their distributor and foodservice clients from the United Arab Emirates to visit beef feedlots and beef processing plants in Ontario to further promote and grow the Ontario Corn Fed Beef brand in this market. A Canadian beef importer and distributor in Hong Kong received support to promote their Canadian beef brand at a major retail shopping landmark in Hong Kong. Five Japanese beef importers and their clients received support to visit their Canadian beef packer suppliers to develop new export opportunities for Canadian beef. A Canadian beef distributor in Mexico received support to host three training and sampling events in various cities in Mexico to showcase and promote the Canadian beef brands they sell. A Vietnamese importer and distributor received support to launch, promote and raise awareness among local consumers of a new Canadian beef product line that will be featured at their retail stores in Vietnam.   Canada Beef’s EMD program provides cost-shared funding support to help facilitate export market growth for Canadian beef representative company-initiated projects and activities in five categories.
