 Canada Beef: Visit of Saskatchewan Minister of Agriculture to Monterrey - October 8 The Honourable David Marit, Saskatchewan Minister of Agriculture along with several of his staff visited Mexico where Canada Beef hosted a business meeting in collaboration with the Canadian Consulate of Monterrey (see photo on front page of newsletter). The meeting had 40 people in attendance, including export partners located in Mexico along with other foodservice and retail distributors and commercial partners. ABASTUR 2019 Tradeshow September 3 – 6 The Canada Beef Latin America and Mexico (CB) team participated at ABASTUR, one of the most important tradeshows in Latin America. This show focuses on the foodservice industry with 18,245 visitors from the hospitality industry. Canada Beef was part of the Sigma Foodservice booth where Ranchers Registry brand beef was showcased and sampled. During the show, Canada Beef also partnered with The Palm Steakhouse, Casa Madero Winery, Sigma Foodservice and Cargill to promote the Ranchers Registry brand through a beef and wine tasting event for 80 guests. ABASTUR Tradeshow beef samples Chef Eva Millan 2019 Vallarta-Nayarit Festival September 30 - October 4 CB participated at a number of seminars and events at the Vallarta-Nayarit Festival. This celebration of food was hosted by and included presentations from Michelin star and award-winning chefs, top restaurants, TV celebrities, officials from the Government of Mexico and the Canadian Consulate to Guadalajara. Over 10,000 people attended the festival. CB, Cargill and Carnes XO (beef distributor) promoted Canadian beef in a joint sponsorship. Canadian beef was the only beef protein served throughout the festival and was presented and prepared by Canadian beef Ambassador Chef Eva Millán along with other celebrity chefs during the festival. Over the three days, Canadian beef was promoted at three seminars with total attendance of 900 people and five special events with total attendance of 910 people. Back to main page
