 Canadian beef cuts launched at Costco Mexico Canada Beef has partnered with JBS Canada and Costco to introduce Canadian beef at Costco locations across Mexico. The official launch coincided with the opening of Costco’s 42nd store in Guadalajara. Canada Beef LATAM Director, Claudia Herrera Blanc, along with the newly appointed Consul General of Canada in Guadalajara, Sébastien Moffett, visited the new Costco warehouse. They met with Costco executives to discuss the program and visit the meat case display, underscoring the significance of this addition to Costco’s premium meat offerings. The Canadian beef program is established across 42 Costco locations nationwide. The product assortment meets customer demand for premium quality. Canada Prime strip loins and boneless rib eyes make up about three-quarters of the selection complemented by a wide range of options including porterhouse, petit tender, eye of round, short ribs, and outside skirt. This combination ensures variety and consistent quality for Costco members. Customers have responded enthusiastically to the meat case assortment which aligns with Costco’s reputation for offering the highest-quality products. Canadian beef is recognized as a premium choice in Mexico, and the collaboration between Costco, JBS Canada, and Canada Beef stands as a successful example of partnership within the country’s retail marketplace. A key goal of the launch is to educate customers on the equivalency between Canadian PRIME/AAA grades with U.S. beef grades. To facilitate this understanding, Canada Beef developed informative visuals and grade comparison graphics, which are displayed in the meat coolers of all 42 participating Costco stores. Through ongoing education, quality assurance, and strong collaboration, this launch marks a significant milestone in enhancing the diversity and quality of protein options available in Mexico’s retail sector.
