 Canada Beef at WOFEX Canada Beef participated at the WOFEX 2023 trade show in Manila, Philippines, on August 2 – 5. WOFEX is the premier trade show in the Philippines, targeting the local retail, food, and beverage industry. Canada Beef hosted four booths and joined forces with the Embassy of Canada and Canada Pork. Samples were offered using three Canadian beef cuts—coulette, top blade, and chuck tender. Culinary students cooked and served the samples, allowing potential customers to see and taste premium grain-fed Canadian beef.   To further increase the visibility and promotion of the Canadian beef brand and products, Canada Beef worked with the Embassy of Canada and Canada Pork to host a networking reception for industry on August 3. Over 200 guests were invited from the chef community, as well as importer/distributors, foodservice operators, and retail buyers. Philippines Canada Culinary Cup Competition Under the WOFEX Young Chef Competition event, Canada Beef and the Embassy of Canada hosted a Canadian beef competition section. Seven local culinary schools participated to showcase their culinary talents. Each two-person student team created a dish using Canadian coulette. The winning team received prizes from the sponsors. Canada Beef’s contribution included access to the suite of e-learning resources available from the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence.
