 Canada Beef was pleased to host Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Minister (AAFC) Lawrence MacAulay and AAFC Deputy Minister Stefanie Beck at the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE) on August 2. It was great to catch up and discuss common goals to grow Canada’s beef industry. Canada Beef President Michael Young, Executive Vice President Mark Klassen, and Vice President Corporate Affairs Ron Glaser provided the Ministers with an update on Canadian beef domestic and export market performance and current priorities and opportunities. The meeting provided a great opportunity to highlight the services of the CBCE via a tour of the meat-cutting studio, where the group viewed a video production in action. Minister MacAulay, also a farmer, was named AAFC Minister in the federal government’s July 26 cabinet shuffle, a position he had previously held from 2015-2019. The Deputy Minister has served in her role since February 20, 2023. Canada Beef looks forward to working with the AAFC team. Back to main page |
