 Welcome to the CBCE Studio Video and photography editing have become a major component of the work done by the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE). With in-person events and seminars discontinued during the pandemic, the delivery of Canadian beef educational and promotional information moved to online and digital platforms.  In order to continue to produce valuable Canadian beef industry content, the team at CBCE turned to multimedia production and part of that process is editing. Editing turns raw footage and imagery into finished tools, resources and assets. The CBCE Studio Division can splice together various clips and images to create mouth-watering and enticing video and photography resources that engage and inspire confidence to explore cooking with Canadian beef for both professional and home cooks.The CBCE Studio team consists of two Canada Beef technical specialists along with contract videographers, photographers and editors. These highly experienced professionals in editing and still photography employ the latest editing software and technology to meet a wide range of project needs for the CBCE. This includes post-production, a process that shapes the raw footage and imagery into a usable product. This involves editing and can include image analysis, formatting for multiple applications, colour correction, image manipulation and cropping as well as file sharing, cataloguing, and back-ups. The editing process is key to a good video—a standard 2.5 to 3-minute educational consumer culinary video requires approximately 2.5 hours of editing post-production to move from a collection of raw content (sometimes hours of video footage) to a finished product. The raw footage can be repurposed for use in different applications including partner projects with industry. The CBCE continues to develop skills and strategies to improve efficiencies while building excellent quality educational resources for the industry.
