Ronald McDonald House Charities® Alberta (RMH) provides a home-away-from-home for out-of-town families with children receiving care in a local hospital. Preparing a meal can be a stressful task for families after spending a long and potentially emotional day at the hospital. Through the Home for Dinner Program, volunteers purchase groceries and provide dinner for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

On June 26, Canada Beef and the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE), in partnership with Alberta Beef Producers (ABP), hosted a Home for Dinner event at RMH in Calgary.

CBCE gathered the ingredients and cooked the meal at RMH which was then served to residents with the support of industry volunteers in collaboration with ABP. CBCE Executive Chef Mathieu Paré and Assistant Yoshi Taylor prepared a menu of slow-roasted bottom sirloin tri tip, steamed summer vegetables and roasted baby potatoes.

Canada Beef President Eric Bienvenue, his wife Shannon, and representatives from ABP were on hand to serve 80 meals to RMH guests. Canada Beef also donated stuffed animals for the children, gift cards for the teens and other Canadian beef treats for people of all ages to enjoy.

Canada Beef and the CBCE appreciate the opportunity to help families during a challenging time by providing a nutritious meal, supported by local partners and industry volunteers.
