 Alimentec Food Fair Canada Beef participated in the 2024 Alimentec Food Fair, which was held June 18-21 in Bogotá, Colombia. The popular food and beverage trade show targets the retail and foodservice industry and attracted over 40,000 attendees from across Latin America. In collaboration with Cargill Protein and Atlantic Foods, a leading Colombian distributor, Canada Beef showcased an extensive array of high-quality cuts, including chuck roll, chuck flap, striploin, rib eye, and short loin. Participation at the show allowed the team to highlight Canada Beef's dedication to excellence in sustainable practices, animal welfare, and food safety. Chef Federico López, Canada Beef's ambassador in Latin America, conducted engaging live culinary demonstrations and tastings at the Canada Beef booth and in partnership with Rational-Colombia, producer of advanced combi-steam ovens, and Irinox, specialists in blast chillers and freezers. These demonstrations showcased sophisticated culinary techniques and preparations, enriching the visitor experience and reinforcing the presence of Canadian beef in multiple locations.   Canada Beef was a key participant, along with the Certified Angus Beef® brand and Cargill Canada, in a launch event on June 21 at the Hilton Corferias Hotel hosted by Atlantic Foods. Following a brief presentation by the directors of Canada Beef and Cargill for Latin America, more than 80 foodservice industry customers had a chance to enjoy the unique qualities of Canadian beef. The tasting included an assortment of appetizers crafted by Colombian chef Javier Cárcamo as well as carving stations showcasing Canadian striploin and rib eye primals.  Canada Beef also contributed an article to Colombia's premier foodservice magazine which caters to a diverse audience of chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, and other industry professionals. Distributed during the fair, this platform provided the opportunity to share insights, trends, and innovations in foodservice operations enhancing Canada Beef's reputation and reach within the beef industry and attracting visitors to the booth. Canada Beef's participation in the Alimentec Food Fair showcased its commitment to quality and sustainability, while highlighting product availability for the Latin American market.
