CBCE expands to include video production
Leveraging a unique understanding of Canadian beef products, the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE) pivoted to become a producer of multi-media resources aimed at supporting trade and consumer users during the pandemic.

They did this by transforming the CBCE culinary theatre and meat fabrication facility into a multi-media studio space, producing approximately 300 trade and consumer videos since May 2020—85 of these videos can be found at cdnbeefperforms.ca.

The consumer-styled kitchen is used to produce consumer-focused culinary demonstration videos complete with lighting, accents, props and equipment to better replicate the home kitchen. Featuring Canada Beef recipes, the team produces videos using at-home ingredients and equipment familiar to home cooks. These user-friendly videos connect with the consumer audience and inspire Canadian beef cooking confidence.

The commercial kitchen is used to produce trade-focused culinary and butchery videos. Outfitted to resemble commercial foodservice kitchens or meat processing facilities, these videos are designed for trade professionals using familiar surroundings, equipment and techniques. In addition, CBCE has developed training videos with major Canadian beef supply chain partners including retail and packer processors.
