Make it Beef Club newsletter achieves milestone
Canada Beef’s Make it Beef Club newsletter subscriber base just surpassed the 100,000-member mark thanks to a recent Canadian Beef Information Gateway (Gateway) contest.

Total membership is now 107,555, an increase of 50,525 subscribers, doubling the membership over the six-week contest period. This represents the biggest gains ever in Make it Beef's subscriber recruitment history.

The contest offered entrants an option to subscribe to the popular “all things beef” newsletter when they entered the contest. Although subscribing was optional and not a contest requirement, most entrants chose the option to enroll—demonstrating their interest in learning more about Canadian beef.

Make it Beef was established in September 2007 and started with 5,000 members from a cookbook contest. The subscriber base has held steady at 40,000 members for the past several years. The team has found that offering the option to join via Gateway contesting has proven to be a successful strategy.
