Canada Beef attends Manitoba Beef Producers AGM
Canada Beef was pleased to participate in the Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP) annual general meeting, held February 8-9, 2024, in Brandon, MB.

Canada Beef Incoming President Eric Bienvenue was part of a panel presentation and Q&A featuring several national beef organizations, including the Beef Cattle Research Council, Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and the National Cattle Feeders Association.

As part of his presentation, Bienvenue took a few minutes to introduce himself and share his meat industry background prior to joining Canada Beef in October 2023. He gave an update of current domestic and export market conditions and trends, provided an overview of Canada Beef’s strategic direction and plans for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and highlighted a number of key domestic consumer marketing and export market development programs currently underway.

While in Brandon for the AGM, Eric took the opportunity to visit beef operations in the region. He visited Poplarview Stock Farm, operated by MBP Research and Extension Specialist Melissa Atchison, and her husband Trevor (a former MBP President and past Canada Beef Vice Chair) and his family, near Pipestone, MB.

Canada Beef thanks MBP for the opportunity to participate in the AGM. Canada Beef is committed to working closely with provincial beef producer organizations and welcomes all opportunities to share the latest market development work being done of behalf of beef producers.
