![]() Burger it Forward launches annual campaign in February The Burger It Forward (BIF) campaign continues to inspire Canadians to enjoy beef while supporting a worthy cause. Now in its fourth year, the campaign has grown to include almost 360 participating restaurants and expanded into the province of Quebec for the first time. Created by Canada’s beef farmers and ranchers, the BIF campaign is a give-back initiative that supports community restaurants and the Canadian ground beef supply, while raising funds for food banks at local, regional, and national levels. For every campaign-featured 100% Canadian beef burger purchased during February at participating restaurants, Canada Beef will donate the equivalent of one meal to Food Banks Canada, up to a maximum of 20,000 meals (based on Food Banks Canada’s meal metric: $1 = two meals), demonstrating a commitment to corporate social responsibility. In addition, participating provincial cattle producer associations and beef partners support their regional food banks by donating funds or ground beef. In 2025, the campaign raised $61,399 for food banks and sold 62,431 burgers at 262 participating restaurants across Canada. “We’re thrilled to see such enthusiasm from Canadian restaurants for Burger It Forward this year, with participants and representation from most major cities,” said Kelly Hyde, Director of Consumer Promotions at Canada Beef. Promotional support for the month-long campaign includes social media content, Global TV ads, and Pattison Media billboards in targeted areas. A national public relations campaign will target print, radio, TV, newspapers, and digital media to generate earned (unpaid) media exposure. ![]() BIF 2026 runs February 1-28. Visit the Burger It Forward website to find participating restaurants across Canada where you can buy featured campaign burgers and help support an important initiative to address food insecurity, support restaurants and increase ground beef sales. In 2025, Food Banks Canada recorded the highest level of demand in its history, with close to 2.2 million people accessing food banks in a single month. Today, one in four Canadians lives in a food-insecure household, and nearly 23% of food banks run out of their supplies before meeting demand.
