Video resources Canada Beef’s Health and Nutrition team recently completed a series of new videos as part of its ongoing resource development. The team creates resources in various formats, including printed brochures and booklets, online resources, and videos to reach the broadest possible audience. Videos are especially versatile and can be used on many different platforms, posted to social media and partner websites, and linked from resources and advertisements. Canada Beef Director, Health and Nutrition Karine Rekunyk said that the goal of the most recent suite of videos was to capture key nutrition messages and topics that engage consumers and make it easy to learn about beef nutrition. “We developed these videos to capture beef’s most relevant nutrition points, such as key vitamins and minerals and the importance of beef’s protein content,” she said. The team has found many new avenues to showcase the videos. The zinc, vitamin B12 and iron videos have been used for several communication campaigns, such as sponsored ads (Spotify, Media Planet, Instagram), online services for visitors to the Dietitians of Canada website, and through Gym TV where they are shown at 750+ fitness centres across Canada. The team also used the videos for education, health professional training sessions, and at conferences. The videos are posted on the Canada Beef website where consumers can find them. The What’s on Your Plate video was recently featured in a Canada Beef press release about the Gateway’s Diet & Wellness program launch; the zinc video posted to Youtube has received 59,000 views since it was posted two years ago.
