 Canada Beef at health care practitioner education conferences Canada Beef exhibited at two conferences recently. In May, the Health and Nutrition team was at Pri-Med, an annual medical education conference and trade show organized for primary care health practitioners (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) in Toronto. Over 3,000 healthcare professionals attended the national conference. The team also participated for the first time at the Rural and Remote Medicine Conference in Quebec City, where approximately 1,000 delegates attended.   Canada Beef Director of Health and Nutrition Karine Rekunyk noted that the opportunity to have in-depth one-on-one discussions with health care professionals about beef research and resources was highly valuable. “Our messages and resources were well received, and there was a very positive response to seeing beef at these conferences. Many initial reactions of curiosity as to why beef is at this conference led to some excellent discussions and attendees leaving with new knowledge,” she said. Topics of interest included GLP-1 medications, and attendees were pleased to learn that Canada Beef now offers a new resource on this topic. Protein, iron, and saturated fat remain important topics, and the team highlighted the resources and research available at ThinkBeef.ca.
