 Canada Beef foodservice outreach strengthens partnerships The Canada Beef Channel Marketing Foodservice team led a foodservice market outreach initiative in Edmonton and Calgary, connecting with distributors, restaurant operators, chefs, and culinary partners to build relationships and expand awareness of Canada Beef’s training and support resources. The outreach prioritized expanding the Certified Canadian Beef Training Program (CCBTP) as a valuable training tool for all foodservice staff. The team discussed integrating the CCBTP into existing staff training to boost beef knowledge, confidence in handling Canadian beef, while enhancing the guest experience. A highlight was a collaborative workshop with PrePak Meats and the Edmonton Chefs Association, attended by 20 chefs and professionals. The session introduced the CCBTP and other Canada Beef foodservice resources and served as a refresher for PrePak staff who previously completed the training. The session also featured the Story on Steak videos, Steak Doneness Card, Canadian beef grading education, Prime Grade content with Chef Michael Allemeier, CCBTP preparation and cooking modules. The Restaurant Gateway contest was also highlighted. Participants sampled Canada Prime and AAA beef, highlighting its quality and flavour. The team also met with a group of fine-dining restaurants to explore partnerships promoting Canada Prime and showcasing Canadian beef’s premium quality in high-end foodservice settings. The outreach initiative helped the team understand current challenges faced by foodservice operators and identify how Canada Beef can further support industry partners. The Western Foodservice Outreach Initiative reaffirmed Canada Beef’s commitment to supporting industry partners, providing beef education, and promoting the quality and value of Canadian beef across the foodservice industry.   Back to main page SANDESH RODRIGO Director, Foodservice Market Development
