![]() Canadian beef part of food education program Food education (Shokuiku) is a Japanese concept that promotes healthy eating habits and understanding of the importance of food. Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) Japan has partnered with All Japan Chefs Association (AJCA), one of Japan’s main professional chef organizations, to hold a Canada Beef Shokuiku event on March 31, 2026. The event included 12 parent-child teams (24 participants), invited in collaboration with the Meguro City office, a local municipal government in Tokyo. The Canada Beef Shokuniku Program is designed to introduce children and their parents to Canadian beef through fun and interactive learning activities. Participants learn about beef production and why beef is an important part of a balanced diet. The program featured easy-to-understand lessons and opportunities to cook and taste Canadian beef. Seven professional chefs participated and, together with the participants, prepared dishes using Canadian beef. Through this interactive experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of its high quality and had the opportunity to learn cooking techniques directly from the professionals. ![]() Canadian Beef Promotion on FoodJang Online Mall Starting in late February, CBII Korea supported a 28-day Canadian beef promotion on FoodJang, a specialty online meat retailer. FoodJang is the sister company of Sunwoo Fresh, the largest importer of Canadian beef in Korea, and serves as a strategic partner to expand market reach. With approximately 5,000 daily visitors, the platform offered an excellent opportunity to showcase Canadian beef to a broad, relevant consumer audience. Visitors to FoodJang are typically interested in ongoing meat promotions. During the promotion, four Canadian beef products were featured, including marinated flat iron, bulgogi, thick-cut beef short ribs, and bone-in chuck short ribs. This collaboration with Korea’s leading importer facilitated a successful month-long campaign on a dedicated meat e-commerce platform. Based on the positive results, FoodJang has expressed interest in conducting additional Canadian beef promotions in the coming months. ![]() Back to main page ![]() ICHIRO KIYOTOMI Senior Director, Market Development, Japan/South Korea ![]() TAKAKO TOYAMA Senior Manager, Operations, Japan ![]() YG SHIN Marketing Coordinator, South Korea |
