![]() Canada Day in Monterrey On July 2, the Canada Beef Latin America and Mexico Office (LATAM) together with the Consulate of Canada in Monterrey and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce organized a Canada Day celebration in Monterrey. The event took place at Museo La Milarca, a renowned private museum in Garza Garcia, Nuevo León. The event welcomed approximately 180 guests, including members of the business community, consuls and diplomatic representatives from other countries, representatives from two Canadian beef packers, and distributors, importers, foodservice operators, and retailers from Mexico’s meat industry. The Governor of the State of Nuevo León also attended, underscoring the event's importance and the strong relationship between Canada and Nuevo León. Several newspapers and media outlets were present, providing coverage of the event. Canada Beef’s Senior Director Market Development, Mexico and Latin America Claudia Herrera-Blanc delivered welcome remarks alongside representatives from the Consulate of Canada and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the continued collaboration with beef importers and the strong commercial and institutional ties between Canada and Mexico. ![]() As part of the culinary experience, guests enjoyed several dishes featuring Canadian beef, sponsored by Cargill. The menu highlighted the quality, versatility, and premium attributes of Canadian beef for an influential audience while creating a memorable culinary experience. Beyond the formal celebration, the event created a unique platform to position Canadian beef within a broader business and trade environment. The presence of key decision-makers from the Mexican meat industry, together with members of the media, provided an opportunity to showcase Canadian beef in a setting that combined diplomacy, business, gastronomy, and media exposure. This strengthened awareness of Canada as a trusted supplier of high-quality beef and generated additional visibility for the Canadian beef brand. Watch a video of the event following.
