New contest: Every Taste Tells a Story
In June, the Restaurant Gateway (Gateway) launched its new "Every Taste Tells a Story" contest, inviting Canadians to share meaningful restaurant memories that include beef. Whether it’s a favourite burger place or classic steakhouse, the campaign celebrates the stories that connect Canadians through food when dining out. By encouraging consumers to share these experiences, Canada Beef aims to highlight the important role Canadian beef plays in bringing people together.

The contest runs from June 5, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The campaign, launched with a Father's Day theme, will feature monthly occasions that encourage Canadians to share meaningful dining-out memories throughout the campaign.

Entering the contest is easy. Diners simply need to:
  • Share a brief story (five lines or less) about a memorable restaurant experience.
  • Include the name of the Canadian restaurant.
  • Mention the beef dish you enjoyed or are looking forward to.
  • Share the family and friends who joined you.
Participants can increase their chances of winning by uploading a photo of the restaurant, the beef dish enjoyed, or the family and friends sharing the moment.

Each month, one winner will be randomly selected to receive a $200 Visa gift card.

Canada Beef Director, Consumer Promotions, Kelly Hyde noted that food has a unique way of bringing people together and creating memories that last a lifetime. “Our Every Taste Tells a Story contest is about celebrating those special moments, whether they're milestone events or simple everyday gatherings, while recognizing the role Canadian beef plays in bringing family and friends together. We can't wait to hear the stories Canadians share,” she said.

After entering the contest, participants are encouraged to explore the Restaurant Gateway, a resource dedicated to celebrating Canada's high-quality beef and the farmers and ranchers who raise it. Visitors can discover restaurant chains that feature Canadian beef on their menus, learn about the restaurant industry's contributions to local communities, and watch inspiring videos featuring beef producers and chefs from across the country.
