Beef Salpicao and Crostini Beef Bites

Beef Salpicao is a quick, garlic beef dish prepared by simply marinating with some simple flavourful ingredients and then stir-fried for quick preparation.

  • Yields: Makes 4 main dish servings or 40 Crostini Beef Bites


3 cloves garlic, minced

3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup tomato paste

2 Beef Tenderloin Grilling Steaks, 1/2-inch (2.5 cm) thick, about 1 lb (500 g), cut into 1-inch cubes

1 tbsp vegetable oil


In sealable plastic bag, combine garlic, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Add beef, seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 12 hours.

Heat oil in heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Transfer beef and marinade into pan and stir-fry about 6 minutes, until browned all over.

Serve as a main with stir-fried peppers and onions alongside steamed rice or polenta or turn into Crostini Beef Bites: slice warm beef cubes and use to top a crostini spread with a spoon of smoky antipasto and sliced green onion.
