Canada Beef at Alimentec 2026
Alimentec 2026 offered Canada Beef an important opportunity to connect directly with Colombia’s retail and foodservice sectors, bringing together restaurant groups, retailers, importers, distributors, and other industry stakeholders interested in premium protein solutions. The exhibition provided a valuable setting to showcase the quality and versatility of Canadian beef while strengthening commercial relationships and identifying new opportunities in the Colombian market.

Canada Beef’s participation brought together strong representation from the Canadian beef industry and key Colombian market partners including Canada Beef Vice President Export Market Development, Albert Eringfeld, Canada Beef Latin America and Mexico (LATAM) Office, Senior Director, Claudia Herrera Blanc, Cargill Beef Sales, LATAM, Efrain Delgado, JBS North America Beef Sales, Anna Jauregui, Meico Foodservice, Commercial Director, Rafael Meisel, Canada Beef Brand Ambassador, Mexico, Chef Jaime Cavazos and Colombian Chef Miguel Juha.

The booth became a central meeting point for commercial discussions, culinary engagement, and relationship building throughout the exhibition. Its distinctive design and strong visual presence made it a draw on the show floor, encouraging visitors to stop, explore the space, and learn more about Canadian beef. This initial engagement led to conversations with restaurant groups, retailers, and foodservice operators, who could discuss product opportunities and experience Canadian beef through live demonstrations and tastings.

The Colombian importer played an important role in bringing customers to the booth and facilitating conversations with restaurant groups, allowing them to experience the quality of Canadian beef firsthand. The participation also relied on the support of international trading companies with established relationships with Canadian processors and experience developing business across multiple markets.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the collaboration between Canada Beef and Canada Pork. With both organizations located across from each other on the show floor, the teams created synergies by sharing culinary activities and maximizing visitor engagement. Canada Beef chefs prepared dishes featuring both Canadian beef and pork at the Canada Beef booth, then continued the experience at the Canada Pork booth, showcasing the versatility and quality of Canadian proteins and providing menu inspiration for restaurant operators and industry professionals.

Canada Beef’s participation at Alimentec 2026 concluded with a visit from the Ambassador of Canada to Colombia, Elizabeth Williams, who joined both the Canada Beef and Canada Pork booths and shared remarks with attendees. Her presence underscored the importance of Canada-Colombia trade relations and recognized the collaboration among Canadian industry partners showcasing the quality and diversity of Canadian proteins in the Colombian market.

Through a combination of industry representation, culinary experiences, and direct engagement with Colombian buyers across retail and foodservice channels, Canada Beef’s participation at Alimentec 2026 strengthened connections across the value chain. It reinforced the reputation of Canadian beef as a high-quality, reliable option for the Colombian market.
