Canada Beef participates in Supermarket Trade Show in Japan
Trade shows play an important role in the food industry’s marketing efforts. Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) Japan recently participated in the Supermarket Trade Show, exhibiting alongside Canadian beef suppliers to promote Canadian beef. Canada Pork exhibited alongside the Canada Beef booth to raise the profile of the Canadian red meat industry.

Held in the Tokyo area from February 18-20, 2026, the show attracted over 80,922 buyers (a 4.7% increase from the previous year), setting a record for the highest daily attendance of any food trade show in Japan. The Canada Beef booth was popular, with many visitors stopping by to take part in the Canadian beef demonstrations and sampling events.

Canada Beef President Eric Bienvenue travelled to Japan to participate in the show and held many productive meetings with both current and prospective customers. Before the event, Bienvenue visited in-market partners to discuss market opportunities and challenges, as well as future marketing initiatives.

At the booth, the team highlighted the Canadian beef grading system and Canadian beef point-of-sale materials developed for retail customers. In addition to premium Canadian beef cuts, supply partners also showcased underutilized beef cuts, such as the brisket skirt, an alternative to outside skirt, to meet customer demand.

Canada Beef participates in Alberta Korea Forum 2026
Canada Beef International Institute (CBII) South Korea participated in the Alberta Korea Forum 2026, hosted by the Government of Alberta under the theme “Sustainable Food Security between Canada/Alberta and Korea.” Held on March 5, 2026, at the Westin Josun Hotel in Seoul, the event drew 135 participants, including beef industry representatives and media.

At the forum, CBII South Korea delivered a presentation highlighting the role of the CBII office and the strengths and unique characteristics of Canadian beef. The session featured the Canadian Beef Advantage video, showcasing Canada’s comprehensive production system across animal health, food safety, beef grading, and quality management.

A luncheon buffet featured three Canadian beef dishes, showcasing the exceptional flavour, quality, and versatility of Canadian beef. Cuts included short cut clod, bone-in short ribs, and rib finger meat.
