Joyce Parslow brings home OHEA Founder’s Award

Joyce-350x300We have a great team here at Canada Beef. We’re proud of the work our people do on behalf of beef farmers and ranchers, and the beef industry across Canada.  Today, we are proud to share an amazing achievement by one of our own.

On April 2nd, Canada Beef’s Joyce Parslow received the Ontario Home Economics Association (OHEA) Founder’s Honour Award.  The Founder’s Honour Award is given to a Professional Home Economist who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession.

Joyce was nominated by Mairlyn Smith, author of “Homegrown: Celebrating The Canadian Foods We Grow, Raise and Produce” and former Second City Comedy Troupe alumnus.

“Joyce epitomizes what being a professional home economist is all about,” Mairlyn said in her nomination, and added that during the creation of the Homegrown Cookbook, Joyce more than stepped up to the plate, offering expertise and experience with Canadian beef.

Caroline Dewar, a former colleague of Joyce’s from the Beef Information Centre told us that she can’t think of a more deserving individual to win the award, and we can’t agree more!

Here at Canada Beef, Joyce brings passion, knowledge and enthusiasm. Her dedication to bringing the Canadian beef brand to life for consumers is unparalleled, and consistently goes well beyond expectations.

We are proud to have Joyce as a part of the Canada Beef team, and congratulate her on her deserving win of the OHEA Founder’s Honour Award.

Feel free to leave a message below to congratulate Joyce, or send her a tweet at @cdnbeefrecipes.
